Celebrity Pastors

8-14-18 Celebrity Pastors (Copeland, Warren, Hybels, Locke)

Hello friends and welcome to the podcast! Today the podcast revolves around celebrity pastors. The article we are basing the talk on is from The Christian Post

Celebrity Pastors Hybels, Copeland, and Warren

Bill Hybels

Hybels is the focus of the article linked to above. He has fallen hard, and rightly so. The cover up that took place at Willow Creek was monumental. After the latest allegation that surfaced against the defamed pastor, the entire board at the mega church resigned.

The power that Hybels yielded is both frightening and alarming. A lot of focus is now being put on mega churches and the power that the pastor is given. These churches are usually started in their home and the pastors have all the power. This power is later heightened as the church grows exponentially.

There is a common theme at these mega churches: The Purpose Driven Church.

Rick Warren

The Sunday Special Podcast that we did on the 12th highlights Rick Warren. We focus in on the good, the bad, and the in-between. His heightened focus on church planting has led to massive mega churches spanning the United States. This lust for power and growth has led to massive power at the fingertips of mega pastors. Pastors like Osteen, Hybels, Copeland, and Furtick have all of the power in their churches. What they say goes.

We discuss the recent article highlighting Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church baptizing 50,000 people. How many of those people are truly saved? How many are still attending church at all? Those are the numbers we do not hear about.

Ken Copeland

Here is a video clip of Copeland talking about how he ‘healed’ his plane of corrosion.

Greg Locke

I have decided to make the next Sunday Special on Greg Locke. This wolf in sheep’s clothing needs to be exposed for the fraud he is. His blatant heresy and un-repenting, sinful lifestyle is a slap in the face to evangelicalism. Because of this, Locke needs to resign.

Locke divorced his wife. Locke married another woman. This woman is his administrative assistant. This woman was his ex wife’s best friend.

Do I need to say more? Here is an excerpt of an article highlighting this filth:

After months of denying they were in an intimate relationship before his recent divorce, Greg Locke, the outspoken internet preacher and lead pastor of Global Vision Bible Church in Tennessee, has married his administrative assistant and ex-wife’s best friend, Tai Cowan McGee.

Pulpit and Pen first cited a copy of the newlywed’s marriage certificate filed in Wilson County, showing that Locke, 42, and McGee who also recently went through a divorce, were married on Tuesday by Global Vision Bible Church’s Executive Pastor Jarrod Almond. The marriage came after Locke legally divorced his ex-wife Melissa, whom he said he “loved for 21 years.”

Pastors should not divorce. If they are a practicing pastor and become divorced, it is obvious that they need to resign. If he stays behind the pulpit, his flock will then destroy itself. Because of his lifestyle choices, it is important to bring his sin to light.

God bless

Hello friends and thank you for listening to the podcast! The main point of today’s podcast is the attack on Alex Jones and free speech. Candace Owens was also attacked by this movement as she was temporarily suspended from using Twitter. I do not necessarily agree with Alex Jones or some of his points, but he is still entitled to his voice to be heard equally. Notice that I say equally. If these tech companies would police both sides equally, then I believe it would be okay to eliminate Alex Jones from using their platforms. This is called the free market! But it is not about equal policing, is it?

Alex Jones and Candace Owens

Alex Jones is the biggest conspiracy theorist in the mainstream today. Out of Austin, Texas, Jones has become a mainstream personality during the Trump era. Finding footing during the 9/11 fallout under George Bush, Jones has consistently been a thorn in the establishments side.

He says a lot of outlandish things that allows him to get headlines on mainstream sites. He is talked about on the nightly news and was even spoken about from Hilary Clinton herself.

Candace Owens has become a mainstream conservative speaker as well. I would want to see her thoughts on Alex Jones. Candace recently appeared on his show. She was also attacked by the Twitter moderators for her attack on the new NYT Editorial Board member. I would highlight the tweets below on posting, but they are very profane. I read them on the podcast, and you can see them linked here.

Willow Creek Church

Bill HybelsBill Hybels is the biggest pastor to fall during the #MeToo movement. The recent allegation against him will make 10 women that have came forth against the defamed pastor. The account that she tells is graphic to read and is disheartening to see more women come against him. To be fair to Hybels, he has sternly denied these recent allegations against him from this women.

The fallout has led the teaching pastor that took over for him to resign. This man was co-pastoring with another teaching pastor that is a women. He has decided to resign after these latest allegations while the woman has decided to stay on.

I go in on this pastor that decided to leave the church. I believe that a true shepherd would not leave his flock when the weather gets bad. A true shepherd would help the flock through the storm. A false or weak shepherd can only lead the flock when it is sunny and 75 degrees outside.

Young Earth Argument

young earth theoryThis section of the podcast was cut short due to my son waking up earlier than usual. If you have kids you know exactly what I mean!

I preface the argument by stating that this is a secondary argument that cannot keep you from an eternal salvation. However, believing the old earth theory is the wedge evolutionists are using to try and discredit the Bible and Genesis altogether. They are teaching our children this doctrine! This is the way that they can begin to lead young children into atheism and away from salvation.

God bless
