Should we Support Non-Christians?

elevationWho to support with our listening ears?

In the morning while at work I sometimes have the opportunity to turn on the radio. Personally I can not stand contemporary Christian music, so I always resort to talk radio. As someone that has always heard, “you should be on radio”, talk radio has always been intriguing to me. I am not sure if you have noticed as well, but there are rarely any Christians on talk radio. Should we support these radio programs?

Glenn Beck/ Wretched Radio

From 9am to Noon Glenn Beck is on the radio here in central Ohio. I used to enjoy Beck’s radio program until he was infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome. I still love Glenn Beck’s vision for his company, but he often gets too theatrical for his program. TDC has gotten the best out of Beck. img_0109

Glenn Beck is a Mormon and does not believe in the same Jesus Christ that you and I do. Is it okay to support him with our extra income or listening ears? Ben Shapiro is a Jew and does not believe in the same God as we do. Should we then still support The Daily Wire?

This is actually a blog post where I am asking the question for a response. I am fully intrigued by your thoughts on this matter because I have often struggled with it. To be honest, the only Christian radio program that I can listen to is Wretched Radio with Todd Friel.

support Todd FrielBen Shapiro/ The Daily Wire

Shapiro offers a radio program that a lot of millennial Christians flock to for his political ideology. When he discusses the Bible, especially the Old Testament, his theology gets very foggy. When discussing the age of the earth he says that everything in the OT before Abraham can be argued as a story instead of historical fact. It has always interested me how other religions skew and misrepresent the Biblical text.

Sure, sometimes I still tune in to Beck and Shapiro, but I often feel conflicted. It is like reading a fiction book before I read the Bible. Should I be reading a book before the Bible? Should I be listening to other radio programs before a Christian host or pastor?

God bless and have a wonderful Saturday!

Does God’s Love Abide in You?

Hello and welcome to the podcast! Today we are ending our study in 1John ch 4 and will be beginning the final chapter of our 1 John study next Thursday! The main point today is revolving around God’s Love living within us as true Christians. Is His Love living within you?

Misused Bible Text

1John starts out with one of the most misused and misunderstood Bible verses:

‘Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ‘ -1 John 4:15

God’s Love Abiding in Us

I have often heard people referencing this verse to argue that their sinful, unrepentant lifestyle is indeed okay. They often forget, however, to bring up the next verse in 1John 4.

‘We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. ‘ 1 John 4:16

As Christians we often overlook how important love is to God. God is love, therefore we must live in love as it is the most important commandment. As we all know, love covers a multitude of sins. Therefore, if we in fact live in love, God abides in us. What an amazing feeling to know that if love is in us, God abides in us!

Confidence in Love

If you have the Holy Spirit living within you, then you will have a feeling of confidence and self assurance. This confidence that I have found within me from the Holy Spirit is very comforting, especially since I know that I will spend my eternity in heaven. I live with no fear.

And the Most Hard-Hitting Text…

‘We love, because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also. ‘ 1 John 4:19-21

The Christian Men Shortage

Christian Men Behind the Church Pulpit

“Of the World” Preaching by Christian Men

Christian MenI first wanted to start out by saying that I do not mean to pick on Steven Furtick too much with this blog. I disagree with his teaching and think he tends to preach like a pharisee. He focuses on the worldly pleasures instead of empowering the massive flock that he leads. He, along with many others, are leading Christian men to a sissified form of the gospel. This movement reminds me of the trendy Christian cringe I stumbled upon while on vacation.

The mega church pastor has feminized the average Christian male. This epidemic starts with a simple cardigan and ends with skinny jeans with worn seems.

Furtick is falling behind quickly on the “culture-style” attire he wears on stage each Sunday. I refrain from saying the stage at his “church” actually has a pulpit.

But Carl Lentz has replaced Furtick on the “woke” scale. Lentz is famous for his answer (or lack-thereof) to an abortion question on The View.

Christian Men Lacking Biblical Discernment

Christian men that fill the pews on Sunday mornings at these mega churches are obviously lacking Biblical discernment. I say this because if you actually studied the Bible diligently you would realize that these churches are filled with filth and leave.

These pastors have created cult followings that are leading sheep to the slaughter. Thousands of men are being led to hear, “Depart from me…” at the day of their judgement because of mega pastors like Lentz and Furtick.

I am in no way saying that these two pastors are the sole reason for this epidemic, but there are a slue of false teachers on Christian television every day. It is important for the true men of God to stand against this movement in evangelicalism and call it for what it is.

Changing the Feminist Backslide

Christian MenIf we call out these false teachers, then we can begin to repair the churches that they have destroyed. The “un-tuck” shirt movement that has invaded the church stage has degraded the gospel to an alarming state of health. Christian men no longer see it necessary to promote themselves in a manly manner, but instead apologize for their masculinity.

Instead of following pastors such as Voddie Baucham and Paul Washer, Christian men are following false teachers that tickle their ears. The issue with Baucham and Washer is that they call us out for our sissified culture and what we need to do to change and repent.  Yes, the Bible clearly states that our wives should submit to us in marriage. But what is even more important is to love our wives like Christ loves the Church.

When men in the church leave their wives or watch pornography, it destroys the home. Then the foundation of the local church weakens. When the local church weakens the disease spreads to the community. Finally, when the whole community erodes the national movement starts.

These false teachers invade communities with their church planting and change the community from the inside out. True, Biblical doctrine is Christian Menseen as too “old school” and must be changed. They bring in non-believers with their coffee and keep them because of their wussy gospels.

And Finally…

We all have loved ones that are trapped in this movement. This movement is most likely making its way into the church you attend. First it is Jesus Culture music and soon enough your pastor will wear a t shirt instead of a suit. The Holy Spirit is evicted from these churches. This is due to true Christians leaving for another church. We did it! But it is even more important that strong Biblical people stay at that church to fight this disease. The great commission calls us to go and make disciples.

God bless you and your witnessing to these men lost in the movement.

The Case for Biblical Judgement

Judgement while having your own plank

highway GIFBefore I was truly saved I spent my time focusing on judgement on others un-Biblically. I would judge without removing the plank from my own eye. I was a hypocrite and even worse, I was a false convert. The issue with modern Christianity is that we are able to call ourselves Christian without being one. I was living in an un repentant lifestyle, which was putting me on the “Highway to Hell”.

The first passage in Matthew 7 discusses Biblical judgement. This passage is probably one of the most overused and misunderstood passages in the Bible today. Atheists and liberal “Christians” often use this text to argue that you should not worry about their lifestyle. We should not judge because we sin as well and if we all sin then we should not be judging each other.

Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Matthew 7:3-5

Removing my plank

Before Christ saving me in a true salvation, I enjoyed judging others without removing the plank in my own eye. As a young “Christian” man it was often easy to judge those that are living in homosexuality, alcoholism, pride-filled, etc. The problem with me, however, is that I was living in the lust of the flesh and was not repenting. That made me a hypocrite! A false convert! A lost sheep of God. And worse, I was claiming that I was representing Jesus Christ.

But what was worse was that I would have been unable to properly witness to someone that is living in sin. Even the slightest educated non Christian could have exposed me for being just like them. I knew enough about the Bible and Jesus Christ that at the end of my life I would have heard, “Depart from me”.

The importance of walking with Christ

If the church is continued to be filled with non Christian, luke-warm believers, then we will see more sin in the church. This view will lead the church to be of the world instead of not of the world. The Bride of Christ will continue to shrink and become a smaller minority of the world. Christ died and rose for our sins and most importantly, bore the wrath of God on the cross that was aimed at us. He took our punishment so we could live in repentance.

I am now living in repentance. This gives me a clear conscience to judge others in a Biblical sense. I can now lead my family in our faith in Christ and live for the great commission. It is the call for all of us who are truly saved. Biblical witnessing is the way to lead the lost to Christ. This witnessing includes showing them that they are sinners in need of a savior. There is NO sin that is too strong to not be saved from. Take Saul, who was persecuting and hunting down those who believed in God. He hated us. But God saved him and led him to do great, amazing things in his new life as Paul. Paul went on to write 13 books in the NT. Christ can take anyone and make them a new person for His Will.

God bless

Christian Persecution. Should we Prepare?

We often assume that persecution is only in the developing or third world nations. We also think that the world does not exist outside of our bubble here in the western hemisphere. While we focus on our social media likes, our blog post stats, our utility bills, we are allowing the secular world to bully and push us into submission.

Should we be preparing for this to occur here in the United States? Read the social media comments or editorial pages of major newspapers: The writing is on the wall. Once the Christian population is squandered to such a minute level, the flood gates of hatred towards us will fly wide open.

The United Kingdom Persecution

dr davidHey… at least this isn’t the “western western” hemisphere… right?

Dr. David Mackereth was recently let go while training for his new position as a health and disability assessor for the government. The 55 year old medical doctor had 26 years experience working for the NHS.

Why exactly was he terminated?

He had the audacity to identify patients by their biological sex. He told his trainer about his discomfort with this rule, to which the trainer reported him and he was later let go for his stating that he did not feel right identifying patients by the gender they chose.

I had not yet pointed out that Mackereth is a strong Christian simply because I would think even a level headed atheist should be able to identify what is a male or female.

Mother Russia Persecution

bootRussia is such a great Christian nation… right? Vladimir Putin is such a great Russian Orthodox Christian… right?

The newest anti-Christian law has many Russians fearing that the KGB style policing is slowly coming back to the communist nation.

The law, which is supposed to be aimed against the spread of terrorism and extremism, has also been approved by the Russian Parliament’s upper chamber. The move blocks the sharing of faith in any place that is not a government-sanctioned house of worship. [The Christian Post]

The law, which was approved by Putin, bans any evangelical from evangelizing to atheists or people of other faith. This law even trickles down to the home, where evangelizing to people inside of your own residence is strictly forbidden.

What is even more scary is that if you see this occurring and do not report it yourself, you can also face prosecution!

NRB President Jerry A. Johnson further called on the United States government to pressure Russia to repeal what he described as an “unjust law.”

“Let’s pray this new iron curtain of Christian persecution in Russia will be lifted quickly and without harm to our brothers and sisters in Christ,” Johnson said. [The Christian Post]

Conclusion

Not only do we need to pray for our brothers and sisters in these nations, but for all Christians worldwide. If these are truly the end times, these types of persecution will only get worse. The sickest forms of persecution have been hitting the developing world since the beginning of time but we have been blessed enough to not face this in the first world… but this is quickly changing.

I remember when gay marriage was legalized. I was one of those college kids that was all for the legalization, but when I saw what people were saying I quickly realized that I was wrong. On social media people were not excited about the legalization, but the problems that Christians were going to face. I soon realized that this was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

ropeWe will face persecution in our lives. So far in the western world it has only hit us in our jobs and professional lives. Sure, maybe we have even lost loved ones or friends because we refuse to hide our faith. There is even increasing talk about a civil war in the United States.

What should we do?

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20

I am not afraid of persecution.. are you?
